Mr. Kiayias is a founding member and a Managing Partner at Newport Real Estate Partners (“NREP”), a fully integrated real estate private equity firm with offices in Newport Beach, New York and San Francisco Bay Area, among other locations. He is also Chairman of Newport Private Group.
Mr. Kiayias has over thirty years of experience in the financial and real estate industries with more than $120 billion of completed transactions. He has worked in New York in investment banking and principal investing for firms such as Goldman Sachs and the Blackstone Group, as well as in the EMEA and Asia regions, where he worked with numerous public and private companies in various sectors, providing advice in private equity, mergers and acquisitions, and other strategic transactions.
At Newport Real Estate Partners, Mr. Kiayias has been instrumental in establishing the business strategies for the firm and driving innovation for all of NREP’s platforms. Under Mr. Kiayias’ guidance, Newport has strengthened and expanded collaborations with leading institutional investors, family offices and UHNWIs around the globe. Mr. Kiayias serves as a member of the investment committee for the firm, and a director for several of NREP’s real estate funds.
Mr. Kiayias sits on the boards of a number of companies both within Newport Private Group and outside. He is an advisory board member of the Center for Real Estate and Finance at Cornell University. Mr. Kiayias also serves as an advisor to the Dean and was a guest lecturer at Columbia Business School in New York City. He is a member of the Foreign Policy Association and supports various philanthropic organizations such as Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts and the Asia Society.
Mr. Kiayias holds an MBA with honors from Columbia Business School. He received an AB in Economics and Finance from Cornell University where he was an undergraduate Fulbright Scholar and a recipient of the Stelios Haji-ioannou Scholarship graduating with Summa Cum Laude. Mr. Kiayias has also served as an Officer in the Special Forces.
